What is detailing?

Detailing is a lot more than a your normal car Valet and it involves a number of key stages that will include decontaminating, Paint correction,  and the protection of the paint work on the vehicle to achieve that show car finish.

Decontaminating  removes all bonded contaminants for e.g. tar, tree sap, industrial fallout, over spray and existing polish or waxes from the vehicles paint work, which a normal wash fails to achieve. This will restores a glossy smooth surface ready for the next stage of paint correction, cleanse and wax.

Paint correction  involves removing common paint problems such as light scratches, swirl marks, buffer trails, cob-webbing and 3D hologram effects. This process can also restore faded oxidized paint (e.g. red paint that has gone pink) This is done by using a selection of compounds and polishes to refine & correct the above mentioned imperfections in paintwork so that the paintwork reflects light perfectly at all angles.

The vehicles paint is measured in microns using a digital thickness gauge (metal only) to determine the levels of paint correction to be carried out safely.

Protection  involves preparing the surface with a pre-wax cleaner ready for a suitable wax (carnauba wax) application either by hand or pad.

Certain waxes can be layered after 24hrs for that increased protection and depth.
